Alex: Alex has 15 years of experience in the energy sector in West and Central Africa. He previously served as Group Head of Credit Risk and Strategy at d.light where he was responsible for a portfolio of $130+ million in consumer financing for 1+ million people. Alex is co-founder of the Lab and serves as its Head of Analytics.

A PAYGo Lab co-founder, Dan is also founder/MD of Catalyst Energy Advisors, a company he established after having co-founded and led Côte d’Ivoire’s first PAYGo solar company. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at the World Bank in operational roles, including managing Lighting Africa, the WB/IFC flagship program to support the off-grid solar industry. At PAYGo Lab, Dan is Director, responsible for strategy and business development.

Eka is a data consultant focused on asset finance companies, adding value to clients throughout the entire data lifecycle. After starting her career in the Data & Analytics practice in PwC Mexico, she worked with PEG Africa in Ghana, joined enable|digital in early 2019, and currently does independent consulting.

Koen is a senior MSME banker with 27 years of international experience in more than 20 countries. During his career, he established and led commercial banks and MFIs and held several board positions. Since 2021, he has served on the Investment Committee of the SANAD Fund, an MSME impact fund; since 2024, he has been a Board member of Adehyeman Savings & Loans Company in Ghana. Koen also has significant short-term consulting experience in governance, strategy, credit and collections, process optimization, turnaround, agricultural finance, and solar PAYGo. Koen holds an MSc. in Agricultural Development Economics.

With over 3 years in software development, he has a proven track record with startups, including interApp, which raised $1.2 million. His expertise is in Ruby on Rails and the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js). He has developed mobile apps using React Native and crafted backend logic for AR/VR applications. Currently, he is expanding his skills to include low-code platforms. His diverse technological experience and adaptability make him a valuable asset to any development team.

Nuno brings over 15 years of management and leadership experience, most recently as CEO of SolarWorks in Mozambique. Having seen firsthand how impactful a transformation to “PAYGo 2.0" credit management can be, Nuno has made it his goal to share his knowledge and experience with other PAYGo leadership teams, as a senior advisor to the Lab.
Nuno Lopes

Co-founded SolarNow, a pioneering solar financing company in Uganda and Kenya, and served for 10 years as its CEO. Prior to that he worked for 10 years in micro-finance. He managed banks in Ghana and Mozambique, before co-founding and managing Catalyst Microfinance Investors, a USD 125 million equity fund that later became known as ASA International. He leads the PAYGo lab team and mentors PAYGo leadership teams on culture transformation.
